William Robert Stahl passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedicated service, and deep love for his family.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 14th, 1948, William grew up with a trademark talent for creating, building, and capturing the world around him. He graduated from Dobbins High School in 1966. Driven by a profound sense of duty, William voluntarily joined the United States Air Force in 1967, successfully completing boot camp to answer his country’s call. In 1968 and 1969, he deployed to Vietnam, serving on the front lines as a courageous combat photographer, documenting history through his lens. He returned home in 1970, honorably completing four years of dedicated service and earning many prestigious awards for his bravery and skill.
Upon returning to civilian life, William focused his sharp mind and work ethic on higher education. In 1971, he attended both Penn State and Drexel University, pursuing his passion for drafting and engineering—skills that would define his lifelong mastery of building and fixing things.
In 1973, he married the love of his life, Linda Niebish. Together, they became William and Linda Stahl, building a beautiful life side-by-side. Over their 53 wonderful years of marriage, they created a home firmly rooted in strong Christian values, partnership, and an enduring love that anchored their entire family.
Beyond his daily commitments, he found a deep sense of fulfillment in his personal passions. He was a master at working with his hands, whether he was meticulously restoring cars or taking on complex building projects with his son, William Michael Stahl. Traveling brought him immense joy, especially the luxurious cruises he shared with his beloved wife, Linda. He was also a fiercely dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan, rarely missing a game and always cheering them on with great passion. Yet, his greatest pleasure was always found at home, happiest when surrounded by the laughter and love of his children and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 9:00-11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will take place at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Williamstown.
