I have fond memories of Mr. Braker being a dear friend to my parents Mary and Sam. My memories include his kindness, faith and the love of his wife and especially his children. My father shared many a story of their friendship with the Knights of Columbus and the friends they used to hang out with. Growing up I remember his voice and stature and when he spoke people listened. Thoughts and Prayers to the family at their time of loss. He was surely a great human. May he rest in peace with his wife and Bill.

Growing up in Whitman Square, (St. Charles) our parents always spoke of the Braker Family. (later) Well-deep into similar careers & fellow Brothers of the FOP, HE was still to be acknowledged as "Mr. Braker." We were welcomed into the Braker home. Everything was an open book with The Braker Family. Wow, Mr. Braker. You're now off to see Bill & Mrs. Braker. Every Whitman Square kid who went into the Military and/or Law Enforcement would judge their actions as to whether Mr. Braker would approve.
