Walter Malinowski, on May 25, 2017, of Washington Twp. Age 89. Beloved husband of Theresa (nee Adamski). Devoted father of David (Kathy), Chris (Susan), Lynne Hedrick (Richard), Susan Meier (Chuck) and Ellen Malinowski. Loving grandfather of David, Marc, Bobbisue, Lauren, Ashley, Nathan, Andrea and Rachel. Proud great-grandfather of Nicolette, Roman, Sara, Addison, Emmarie and Tessa.
Walt Malinowski was born and raised in Camden, NJ where he met the love of his life, Tess. Together for over 70 years, they raised 5 children and were blessed with many grand and great grandchildren.
Walt was a kind, sweet and simple man who adored his wife and family and who could melt the heart of anyone. He was fun-loving with unmatched wit and a sharp sense of humor. He was always happy, never complained and made everyone around him feel welcomed and comfortable. He was a gentle man and a gentleman…..polite, honest and trustworthy. He was our “best friend”. Some of the family’s fondest memories were going to the shore, lake or pool where he taught all the kids by the time they were just about walking to swim by throwing them in the deep end and being right there to catch them. He was a graceful diver!
Walt loved music and you could always tell he was around by his whistling and humming. He played accordion in a local band “The Metros” performing most weekends for many years at weddings and nightclubs.
Walt graduated from Camden High where he excelled on the Track & Field team. He then joined the Army and was stationed at West Point where he taught sharp-shooting and the art of driving military vehicles. Walt was active for many years as a popular Little League coach at Whitman Park in Camden where his sons played ball. He worked for several decades at RCA and was a member of the P.A.C.C.
Walt will be remembered dearly by all of us whose lives he has touched but most especially by his beloved Tess. Meeting as teens, they grew up together, raised a loving family, and modeled a marriage envied by all. They traveled a bit but mostly enjoyed staying close to home at their favorite spot in Wildwood. We are blessed to have had him in our lives and he will be sorely missed.
Your loving family……..we miss you!
