I first met "Waj"(Polish) in the late 70's soon after I met his oldest daughter in Denver. There were frequent trips between N.J.and CO. In CO we'd go sightseeing, camping, & in both places visiting. On one trip to Camden he decided to celebrate our arrival & ordered pizza, asking if I liked anchovies. Yep, he got me very own single topping-all anchovies-just for me.The camping trips in CO interesting as we were always well stocked with food & drink-staying hydrated in CO is a must. When in N.J., in the 80's, his father would take Lynne & I to Atlantic City for a lobster lunch. Back in Camden we'd have crab parties. We'd also dine out together as eating was a joy for him. To this man family was his main important goal, 70 years of marriage as simple proof. He put all 5 children into college & worked at times 3 jobs to do so. His laughter, good & bad jokes, & political chats highlighted our times together. Another of his joys was music as he was usually humming or singing, a trait imparted to Lynne. This man was truly loved by all who got to know him and will be missed but not forgotten. -Richard Hedrick (Lynne's husband) Denver, CO

One of the happiest, most joyful men I've ever met. My Grandpa. Spent most summers with him and Grandma...my Mom ("Lynney") and Dad (Rick) shipped my big brother and me off from Denver to New Jersey ever since we were allowed to fly alone (Nathan was 6, I was 4). They'd have to pick us up at the gate and show ID to claim us each time...gosh we loved seeing Grandpa's excitement. Oh how I cried...spent most nights sneaking into bed with them...My memories include Grandpa teaching me how to dive, hoagie sandwiches, water ice outings, Phillies games, flying back to Denver decked out in NJ gear...Muggy Jersey evenings, catching fireflies in glass jars on the golf course, eternal pool days that were never complete without a visit from the ice cream truck and Grandpa warning Nathan he'd "go get the belt" when he was picking on me. Endless days down the shore and walking the boardwalk, pizza, sunburns, Italian food, crabs!!! Anything dealing with good food had his heart. And he just loved and missed my mom all the time. And he just really loved Grandma...and everyone. He was also running errands and doing nice things for people. Fresh warm bread in a paper bag. Milano sandwich cookies! Jokes about "mothballs"... Grandpa would joke with me in the car when I pointed out the "horsies"...saying that "horsie" wasn't a word. Movie nights and making beds out of couch cushions with Lauren and Bobbisue. The movie "Fortress". Grandma and Grandpa visited us a lot in Colorado too. They loved it there. You're at peace now Grandpa. I miss you dearly but will always hold on to the memories we shared. You were an amazing grandfather. You always made sure to tell me "I love you" as much as possible. I love you, Grandpa. Xoxo, Andy -Andrea (Hedrick) San Antonio, TX
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
