Wade W. Hersperger, Jr.

Wade W. Hersperger, Jr., 86, of Deptford, NJ, passed away on January 27, 2023.  He was born on 7/3/1936 to Wade and Helen (Rheam) Hersperger in Bellevue, PA where he grew up with his sister Helen (deceased).  After graduating from Benavon High School, he went to Greenbrier Military School and then to University of Pittsburgh where he majored in economics and played basketball & golf.  After college Wade started his first job at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company as an Insurance Agent and after 30+ years, decided to start his own business writing policy manuals for large and small companies which he did until he retired in 2000.

Wade was fond of all sports, but his true passion was golf.  He started playing at age 14 and over the years became skilled enough to play on the most beautiful courses around the country and overseas.  He got to play with golf legends such as Arnold Palmer & Jack Nicklaus.  In Oct. 1994, he was named NJ Senior Champion.

Wade is survived and missed by his loving wife Carolyn of over 60yrs.; his children, Wade (Joan) Hersperger, III, Robin Rizzo, Carol (Joe) Lubonski; six grandchildren, Casey, Joe, Haley, Jordan, Renee, Nicole; and two great grandchildren, Billie Rose and Ruby.

Wade’s life will be honored and remembered privately by his family.
