Virginia M. Toryk (nee Sanford), on December 17, 2015, of Lindenwold, formerly of Mt. Ephraim. Age 89. Beloved wife of the late John J. Devoted mother of Nancy (Frank), John and Kathleen (Tom). Loving grandmother of Lynne (Matthew), Amanda, Kate, Jack, Heather and Sharon (Frank). Proud great-grandmother of Matthew, Xander, Ava, Lilyana, Leah and Chris. Dear sister of Kenny Sanford. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Virginia was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Glendora, NJ as one four children. She married John J. Brennan, Sr. on April 12, 1947 and had three children. She devoted her life to being a stay at home mom until her children were teenagers. Virginia worked as a retail clerk at Korvette’s in Audubon, NJ from the time it opened until it closed. She enjoyed retail very much and then got a job at Bradlees in Audubon, NJ from the time that store opened until it closed.
Virginia’s second marriage was to John J. Toryk, Sr. She had five step children and many step grandchildren, and extended family members. She enjoyed cruises and trips with family, family gatherings, and was always smiling and a joy to be around. Virginia never went out without being dressed beautifully and with her hair just perfect. Her hobbies included babysitting her great grandchildren, crossword puzzles, bus trips with friends, family dinners and shopping with her daughter. Virginia was loving, kind, and always had a warm smile for those around her. Her greatest joy was time spent with family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial today 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08081. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
