Vincent Charles Carbone, 81, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2020. He was born on April
5, 1938, the son of Mary (Marchiegiano) and Angelo Carbone. He grew up with his brother,
Dominick, in the Parkside section of Camden and graduated from Camden High School, Class
of 1957.

Vince married the love of his life, Velma Jane Brockway, on May 14, 1960. They lived in
Whitman Park and were the extremely proud parents of two sons, Michael and Vinnie. In 1978,
they moved to Washington Township.
Vince served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963. He graduated from the Stonier
Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University in 1983. Vince worked at a career he loved in
the banking industry for over 60 years, starting at Camden Trust and retiring from TD Bank in
December, 2019.

Vince enjoyed Sunday dinners and holidays with the big Italian family, Friday night poker games
back in the “old days”, trips with his family, the casino, marching band music, get-togethers with
his classmates from Camden High, and lunches with the guys from TD Bank. He was a member
of the Camden Lions Club and the Sons of Italy. Vince bowled in a league with family and
friends for many years, with a high game of 299! He was an avid Philly Sports fan, especially
supporting Villanova and his beloved Eagles. Most of all, he loved his family. He was fiercely
dedicated to and protective of all of them!

Vince was passionate about his Catholic faith, and the Church was a major part of his life. He
was a very devoted and active member of St. Charles Borromeo, where he was a Eucharist
Minister and Financial Advisor for the parish.
Words cannot begin to express how much Vince will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Velma,
his devoted children, Michael (Wendy) and Vinnie, and his beloved grandson, Michael, whom he
adored. He is also survived by many caring and heart-broken nieces, nephews, cousins, and
friends, especially Mary Lou & Jim Barnett, Tom & Mary Carbone, and Susan & Mike Tompkins.
Vince was a kind and gentle soul who genuinely cared about everyone. When you were with
him, he made you feel better about yourself. He always put others first and was truly a beautiful
person. Our world will not be the same without him!

Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass Wednesday 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, Washington Twp.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vince’s name to St. Charles Borromeo Church, 176
Stagecoach Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08081 would be greatly appreciated.

Velma And Vinnie, Just found Vince’s obituary online and was shocked to hear about his passing. I am so sorry to hear it. You know how much I loved seeing him and you guys each week at St. Charles. Know that I will remember him fondly and keep him and your family in prayer.

My family and I will miss you so very much! You were a wonderful Godfather to me and so blessed to have you in my life! I always remember you calling me “Bean” when I was a little girl and always kidding around with me! My kids loved visiting with you too! So many beautiful memories I can remember! So sorry to lose another cousin. Many find memories of Vince from when we were kids. Always loved being around him and being at Aunt Mary's. Always liked seeing his High School buddies, Rocco, Walley, Tony, and Frank ones I can remember. Loved all the Chrismas Eve dinners where the entire family attended. Rest easy Vince!!!

My deepest sympathies to the Carbone family. I had the great pleasure of working with Vince during the last 5-6 years of his career. He always had great stories to share and kept us laughing through good times and bad. I hope the many wonderful memories you have made together over the years can help you through this difficult time, until you meet again.

We were so privileged to have Vince be our Best Man at our wedding in 1959. My husband Tony and Vince shared so many fun times at the Castle on the Hill. A true friend, he was always just a phone call away if you needed him. He was generous and funny and dependable with a smile that could light up a room. What a pleasure to have known him!

Dear Velma, Vinnie, Michael, Wendy, & Mike: wanted to give you all hugs the other day, but will just save for another day. Vince and I had many things in common, even before I married into his wonderful family; same high school, same graduating class and some of the same high school friends. Velma, Michael, Vinnie and entire family, My heartfelt sympathy to you all. I worked with Vince at 2059 Springdale Road for several years. He was a kind, faithful man who I considered a friend. He made us all laugh with his jokes and funny stories. A light has gone from the world. I'm going to miss him until we meet again in glory. May God give you His strength and peace.

I am very sorry for your loss. When I worked in the 2059 building my desk was not far from Vince's. He had a great laugh. And a ready smile for his co-workers.
