Thomas J. Romanovich, Sr.
On September 30, 2025, of Washington Twp. Age 79. Beloved husband of Anna (nee Heil). Devoted father of Rhonda Ehmann (Jeff), Thomas J. Romanovich, Jr., Nicole Romanovich (Michael McGonigal). Loving grandfather of Alexis Ehmann, Claudia DePlato, Justin Ehmann, Zofia DePlato, and Carter Romanovich. Proud great-grandfather of Layla Dorner. Dear brother of Barbara Staley and the late Arleen Polkus. Proud cousin of Peter Romanovich and Andrea DeSousa and loved by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Tom was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. His family relocated to the Philadelphia area and settled in the Port Richmond section where he would go on to raise his own children. Tom met his wife, Ann, through friends and was quickly engaged and married before going into the Navy. Tom served as a boiler maker on multiple Navy ships including the USS Josephus Daniels and Plymouth Rock.
Tom was delighted to have 3 amazing children who he loved dearly. Tom was an active father who attended many of his children’s sporting events. Tom worked multiple jobs before settling into his primary career of driving a dumpster truck picking up scrap metal at various steel mills and mints.
Tom’s children gave him 5 grandchildren that he adored. Pop-Pop Tom, as he was known to everyone, was very active and present in his grandchildren’s lives. Whether it was baseball games, preschool drop offs and pickups, cheerleading competitions, drama or singing events, Pop-Pop Tom was there with his big smile encouraging the kids.
Pop-Pop Tom passed peacefully on the morning of September 30th surrounded by his family. Pop-Pop Tom will be missed greatly by family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 pm and Friday 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Life Celebration 11:00 am. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, PA
