Theresa A. Conti

(nee Mercanti) On March 14, 2022 of Washington Twp. Age 74. Devoted mother of Ronald Conti (Stephanie) and Gregg (Ellen). Loving grandmother of Anthony, Annalisa, Ava, Angelo, Olivia, Isabella, and Grace. Cherished daughter of Samuel Mercanti Sr and Catherine Mercanti (nee Heisler). Dear sister of Samuel Mercanti (Diane) and Peter Mercanti (Joan). Loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Theresa was the matriarch of her family who meant the world to her.  She also worked for the Gloucester Township School district for 30 years as a lunch lady where she touched many kid’s hearts through the years.  She watched her sons and her granddaughters Olivia and Isabella go through the lunch lines as well.  She made many friends wherever she went and had lots of fun times spent at the Coral Reef where she was a hostess.  In her retirement she worked at the snack bar at the Gloucester Township pool and got to know the families there as well.   Theresa loved to dance, garden, listen to music loudly while cleaning, cook, bake cookies and do crafts with her grandchildren and she also adored the many golden retrievers she had through the years that gave her companionship.  Christmas day at Theresa’s was a longtime tradition with raviolis, shrimp scampi, games that went on into the late night hours and sleepovers.  Her home and her family meant the most to her and the longtime friendships she maintained through years was a testament to her character.  She will be missed dearly.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday 9:15AM – 10:45 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa’s memory may be made to Homeward Bound, 125 County House Rd., Blackwood, NJ 08012.
