Steven J. Harrington
On October 12, 2023, of Mantua. Age 70. Beloved husband of Michele (nee Scaramuzzi). Dear brother of Jerol, David and the late Donna. Loving son of Raymond and Carolyn. Loved by many nieces and nephews.
After graduating High School Steve enlisted in the Navy from 1971-1977. His appointment was served at the US Naval Communication station in Guam, M.I.
Steven then went on to graduate from Lyndon State College fulfilling his dream of becoming an educator, a teacher. He continued and received his Master’s Degree from Trinity State College. His teaching career was at Hazen Union School from 1982-2007. He was part of the Language Arts Department his entire career. He taught grades 9-12, with a focus teaching Junior Senior English preparing them for their future. He was an integral part of the Hazen Community.
Steve was an avid reader and writer. He loved sports and being a Philly fan. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his dog Duke. Steve has a zest for life and was liked and loved by many. He truly was a genuine human being who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Thursday 6:00-7:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral service 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Steven’s memory may be made to Veterans Helping Veterans, P.O. Box 337, Woodbury, NJ 08096.
