Rose Gnibus
(nee Ferro) On April 12, 2022 of Washington Twp. Age 87.
Rose was born on May 2,1934, to the late Paul and Mary Ferro. She grew up in West New York, New Jersey and was a graduate of Memorial High School. After graduation, she worked in New York City, both at McGraw Hill Publishing and in several dental offices.
She was introduced by mail to a close friend’s cousin who was then serving in Korea. She met and got to know her future husband Richard Gnibus through a long and wonderful series of written correspondence. They were married in December of 1956, and soon relocated to Parsippany, NJ where they raised their three children. Both in Parsippany and then in South Jersey, Rose was a dedicated member of her church community, serving in such roles as a Eucharistic Minister and organizing meals for those in need.
Those who knew Rose will remember her devotion to her family and her willingness to help others. She should also be remembered for her delicious cooking, the enjoyment she found in good conversation and traveling with friends, her enjoyment of reading, her lifelong love of baseball, and the New York Yankees!
Rose is survived by her husband Richard Gnibus; her children Cathy and Greg Marco, Mike and Libby Gnibus , and Sue and Scott Wasienko ; her sister Ginny Delorenzo and her brother and sister in law, Tom and Gini Gnibus. She also leaves her grandchildren Sarah and Drew White, Andrew Marco, Molly, John, and Hannah Gnibus, Michael Wasienko and his fiancée Alyssa Giambri, and Claire Wasienko. In August of 2021, Rose joyfully became a great grandmother when Avery Rose White, her namesake, was born.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Samaritan Hospice for their tremendous care.
