Robert Nuzzo, affectionately known to everyone as Bobby or Nuz, passed away in the early morning hours of July 18, 2024 in the arms of his loving wife, Susan (nee Guida), his “Scoobs”. Devoted father of Alyssa and Rocco Nuzzo. Loving son of the late Thomas and Mary Nuzzo; dear brother of James Nuzzo, Steven Nuzzo (Fran), Michael Nuzzo (Maryann), Richard Nuzzo, as well as the late Thomas and Christopher Nuzzo. Loved by many, many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bobby was born in Brooklyn NY, the 5th of seven sons before the family picked up and moved to Washington Township NJ where Bobby grew up and spent the rest of his life. He admired each one of his brothers and loved spending time with them reminiscing of stories and antics from their childhood.
Sixteen years ago, Bobby met Susan, with whom he quickly fell in love and later married. They built a life together which was always filled with love, good food and laughter. His friends called Bobby and Susan soul-mates; although they never believed in the term, he quickly recognized their love for one-another was unstoppable and continued to expand.
Bobby was a devoted father to Alyssa and Rocco Nuzzo, they were his pride and joy. He enjoyed going out to dinner with Alyssa, especially all you can eat crab night. He loved watching soccer games with Rocco and couldn’t wait for the next game so as to spend more time with his son. He also loved his two special fur-babies Molly and Freddie who stole his heart. During his final nights, it was his little Molly who laid in his bed, gently giving him kisses.
Bobby was known for his quick-witted humor, his generous spirit, his love for the beach, music and gardening. Bobby was an avid baseball fan; in fact his favorite line that always made Susan laugh was “I forgot more about baseball than you know”.
His happy place was the beach; and on any given hot summer day you could always find him on 110th Street in Stone Harbor NJ with his friend Geoff.
Bobby was talented in almost everything he set his mind to, and gardening was one of his passions whether it was growing flowers or vegetables, everything he put in the ground simply took hold each and every summer. Over the past couple weeks all those that came to visit remarked on the beautiful flowers that gently lined the sidewalk going to their front door and decorated the outside of their home.
Bobby was loved and admired by so many that it is impossible to name them all here. His friends were a huge part of his life. Most of his dearest friends he has known and been close with for 50 years. That in of itself is a true testament of his character and integrity.
Bobby’s warmth, wisdom, and the joy he brought to life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His beautiful smile is what most will remember. There is now a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Until we meet again in heaven, we love you and will miss you terribly.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday, 7/24/24 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, 7/25/24, from 9:15am to 10:15am at Egizi Funeral Home 119 Ganttown Road, Turnersville (Washington Twp.), NJ 08012. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Washington Twp. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Sewell.
In honor of Robert’s life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, we would encourage any donations to go to Homeward Bound, Blackwood, NJ; or to a charity, one that speaks to your heart.
