Robert M. Giannotti, Jr., on July 25, 2021, of Washington Twp., NJ. Age 47. Beloved father of Jessica. Loving son of Robert, Sr. and Dorothy (nee Colarulo). Dear brother of Daria Giannotti (Thomas Lyman) and Roseann Giannotti.

Bobby, as he was known by his family, and Rob, as he was known by everyone else, was a caring and loving son, brother, uncle and nephew, but most important of all, a devoted, loving, committed, and truly involved father.  His daughter, Jessica, was the light of his life and the center of his universe.  Bobby’s biggest achievement and greatest success in his life was the wonderful and dedicated father he was. He always looked forward to spending weekends with Jessica and he would always plan something special or unusual for her. He always wanted to make sure that she kept up with school and tried to instill the values in her that are important in life.  She truly was his princess.  Bobby was a hard worker and excelled at his job and Bobby tried to instill these work ethics in Jessica.

Growing up, Bobby enjoyed playing little league baseball and wanted to play for the Phillies, just like every other young boy in the area!  He loved the Phillies. In his childhood years, he was an avid collector of baseball cards and enjoyed trading them with his friends.  He loved going to ballgames and movies with his Dad and his father can still remember the first time he took him to see Star Wars!  He has been hooked every since.  He enjoyed playing video games, going on the Boardwalk in Wildwood, and then enjoyed taking Jessica every summer for a vacation in Wildwood Crest.  He looked forward to having two weeks with her in the summer.  Bobby became a terrific big brother when he was 6 ½.  He was a protector to his sisters, even when they were older.  He liked to give them unsolicited advice on boys/men they were dating but he wanted to protect them and his heart was always in the right place.  Bobby, Daria and Rosey didn’t always agree on things, but one thing was certain – they had a bond and a love that kept them close, despite their distinctly different personalities.

Bobby loved being with his family, especially on Sundays and the holidays.  When his grandmother, Moose, was alive, he would call his Mom every Sunday morning and ask “Where’s dinner?”  He knew that Sunday dinner was a family tradition and it would be served at either his Grandmother’s house or his Mother’s.  After his Grandmother passed away, he still continued with the Sunday morning calls except this time he would just ask, “What time is dinner?”  He looked forward to his home-cooked Italian Sunday dinner, as well as the care package of leftovers that he would always take home with him.  He always wanted to make sure that he never missed anyone’s birthday or special event.  In fact, while he was laying in the hospital just about a week ago, his mother went to spend the day with him, as she always did, and when she walked into his room, he said to her – “Today is your birthday.  I didn’t get you anything.”  He was so sick and yet he was upset that he didn’t have something for her.  That’s Bobby.

Nothing could be written about Bobby without mentioning his love of music, especially his beloved U2, and the number of concerts that he attended were too many to count.  If he found out you were a U2 fan, you would become friends for life!  He had a home theater setup that would be the envy of anyone who visited him.  He definitely took after his Grandfather in this regard.  Bobby loved anything from the 1950’s and was definitely born in the wrong decade.  His house was decorated in true mid-Century style and he was always looking for pieces from that era.  He enjoyed visiting thrift shops, antique stores and flea markets for that special and unique piece.   He was with us on this earth for far too short a time.  We love him, we miss him, our hearts are broken, and our lives will have a void that can never be filled.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at SS Peter & Paul RCC, 362 Ganttown Rd., Turnersville, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ.
