Robert John Satterfield
Born in Baltimore, Maryland September 3rd, 1952, passed away on November 22, 2022, peacefully and surrounded by his loving family in his home in Hobe Sound, Florida, formerly of Chews Landing.
Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Davis). Devoted father of Stella Yoka George (Will), Christa Alexandre (Sandro), and the late Brooks Baker. Loving grandfather of Mitchell, Mason, Dante, Gabriel, and Olivia. Dear brother of Kathleen Lohinski (Paul) Cherished uncle of Paul Lohinski (Kate) and Mollie Lohinski. He is also survived by several loving cousins.
Robert was born to John and Loraine Satterfield and raised in Baltimore City. He attended Archbishop Curly School where he also met his lifetime friends whom he still held dear to his heart. He then went on to work at Shapiros Accounting where he met his soulmate and future wife, Patricia. The two then married and with their three children in tow, moved to New Jersey to continue his career with Union Carbide. From there he moved on to a wonder full 20-year career at Prudential as an insurance and financial advisor followed by many years at Allstate Financial.
Robert was a diligent worker who excelled in financial advice, being a mentor to others, and being a beloved friend and coworker. He was always ready with a motivational speech which led him into some paths where he could help his community. Robert was a managing member of Junior Achievement, where he could help mentor and inspire young minds to be interested in business. He would go to schools and arrange fund raisers to help pay for some of the programs for Junior Achievement. Robert was also a fourth-degree knight in the Knights of Columbus for his beloved Catholic Church, where he helped during many events at the church.
Robert was a great man who loved his music. Whether it was rocking in his car while listening to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”, or dancing with his wife of 47 years to “More Today than Yesterday” like it was still their wedding night, he always loved to listen and dance to his favorite songs, and he would every time he heard them. He also loved his sports and especially the Eagles, which he loved watching with his family.
Robert was diagnosed with stage four Mantle Cell Lymphoma in 2014 and just as Robert always did, fought it as hard as he could into remission. He had seven wonderful years in his beautiful home in Florida with his wife and visits from his beloved family. He was diagnosed again in 2022, where he finally succumbed to his illness.
Throughout his life, Robert Satterfield was referred to in many ways. He was a son, a brother, a father, a mentor, and finally a beloved husband. He will be remembered very fondly by many and missed by even more. Robert is survived by his wife Patricia, sister Kathleen and her husband Paul Lohinski, daughters Stella George and Christa Alexandre, sons-in-law William George and Sandro Alexandre; grandchildren Mitchell and Mason Yoka, Dante George, as well as Gabriel and Olivia Alexandre; niece and nephew Molly and Paul Lohinski, and many other cousins and family.
Robert was a very caring man, loving father, and the best Pop-Pop, and will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
