On August 25, 2021 of Washington Twp. Age 81. Beloved husband of the late Alicia (nee Ullyot). Devoted father of Robert W. Erney (Natalie). Loving grandfather of Bobby and Charlie. Dear brother of Bill Erney (Kathy) and Jim Erney (Toni).

Bob spent his life bringing joy and laughter to everyone he met. Even in his toughest times, he always managed to crack a joke and was an absolute blast to be around. A true Alpha male who served his country proudly in the Air Force, Bob went on to teach countless energetic teenagers the most fascinating aspects of science with the flair of a Broadway performer. In retirement, Bob always maintained his whip-sharp sense of humor which allowed him to religiously watch the Phillies even during the lousiest of years. Bob had a absolutely wonderful life and thanks everyone for such a great run.

Robert’s life will be honored and remembered privately by his family.

Bob, as a brother, you were always there for me, for that I am forever grateful. As a father, you were so very proud of your son Bob, his accomplishments, and the beautiful grandsons, the littlest Bobby and Charlie, that your son Bob and Natalie gave to you, boosting your pride. I very much enjoyed our phone calls over the years, particularly once we moved south. Your humor and jokes, matched with your laser fast wit, always left me laughing. I will surely miss that. Until we laugh together again, RIP, Bob. Your brother Bill.

I'll always remember Uncle Bob as one of the smart, funny guy he was. We spent a lot of time with him when I was a kid. One of my favorite memories is me sitting on my dad's lap with singing the "mouse in the bar" song with my uncle by our side. RIP Uncle Bob xo

Rest in Peace, Mr. Erney. You were one of my favorite teachers in 8th grade. Thank you for being an outstanding educator and person! My prayers go out to all who cherish your memory.

My condolences to the family ! I remember Mr. Erney as my science teacher in Monogahela he’d take us out to the pond out back show us hands on science. That got my attention and made science fun . RIP Mr Erney

Bob and I were close in the early years. When gray was the color of the sky before a rain, not the color of your hair. We went to Phillies games, played golf (neither of us were were good and visited the cabin in Weymouth once in a while. All of these came with a "cold beer" in hand. A lot of jokes and a lot of laughs!!!! These are the times I will remember !! Thanks for the memories Bob! they will stay with me always! Your brother, Jim

My memories of my father are limited to my earliest childhood - ice cream sundaes for breakfast and his Donald Duck impression. Even though we were not part of his recent life, his obituary should include this: Bob is additionally survived by his daughter Patricia Cusack (Cris) and son Steven Michalanko (Andrea), and grandchildren Sarah Cusack, Logan Michalanko, and Landon Michalanko.
