Aged 76. Swimmer. Soldier. Businessman. Husband. Father. Friend. A native of the Kensington section of Philadelphia, lifelong summer resident of Avalon NJ, and resident since 1996 of Franklinville. Formerly of Washington Twp. Deceased September 1. Survived by his wife, partner and best friend of 50 years, Eileen nee Quinn, his beloved mother Dorothy nee Ehly, widow of Robert, and his daughter Janice, as well as by his cousins Richard Hofer Dorothy Smith and Doris Hanna nee Mooney, widow of Sam, their children, and brothers of the heart Joe McCartney Rita, Joe Walker Karole, Bob Muszlay Irene and Miles Wilson Dr. Millie Zacher. Also survived by sisters-in-law Barbara O’Malley nee Quinn, Ellen Quinn nee Wiest, widow of Jimmy, former brother-in-law Jim O’Malley and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who formed this only child’s extended family. To be missed most deeply by Morgan, his border collie and faithful companion.
A graduate of Stetson Junior High, 1950; Northeast High School, June 1952 and an alumni of Lighthouse Boys Club. Swam on Northeast’s Championship swim teams. Lifeguard Captain in Avalon NJ in the early 50s. A veteran of the US Army, serving in army intelligence. Employed in financial service, credit and sales roles throughout a distinguished career, retiring in 1997. Past employers included Snellenberg’s, Esso Credit, Credit Bureau of Norristown, Gimbel’s, Bamberger’s, S. Klein / Rapid American Corporation, Food Fair, Citibank Diner’s Club and later Citicorp Acceptance Services, and Global Payment Services/NDC. These last 2 grew exponentially under his sales leadership. Retired 1997

Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
