Reynold “Ren” Mattei, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Beloved husband of 63 years to Minnie Mattei (née Mannino), Ren was a devoted father to Thomas Mattei, Monique (Todd) Buck, Rick Mattei, and his “Little Princess,” Harper. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Michael (Heather), Nicole (Michael), Alex (Joseph), and Nathan, and cherished great-grandfather to Jack, Vienna, Jeremy, Mila, Mason, Liam, Cassidy, Colette, and Callum. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Ruth Di Giampietro and Donald Mattei.

Ren was the proud owner of Ren Mattei Tire Co., which was established in South Philadelphia in 1974. His dedication to his work was unwavering, and he remained actively involved every day throughout his life. After work, Ren treasured time spent with friends, especially on the golf course enjoying one of his favorite pastimes.

In addition to golf, Ren loved playing cards, making homemade wine for more than 25 years, and preparing soppressata — traditions that brought family and friends together and reflected his deep love of life and heritage. He also proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.

Above all else, Ren was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from the people he loved. His warmth, hard work, humor, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday morning, May 21st, 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd, Turnersville, NJ 08012.

His Interment will be private at a later date.
