Raul Santiago “Pops”

Surrounded by his family on May 4, 2021, the son of the late Raul and America Santiago, has made his transition. He was a beloved husband to Maribel Santiago and devoted father of Samuel, Raul III, Elizabeth, Ashley, Elijah, Cheyenne, and Maya. Pops was a loving grandfather of Norah, Raul, Elijah, and Zabel. Dear brother of Samantha and Laura.

Pops lived in many places, but he always called home wherever his family was. He was very passionate about his Mets and Celtics. He enjoyed biking, experimental cooking, graffiti art and all genres of music. Pops joined the army at a young age and it changed his life for the better. He was an extremely hard- working man who joined many radiology teams across many different facilities and tried his best to make a positive impact. He truly will be missed and always remembered.

His family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 2:00-5:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Turnersville, NJ 08012.

I worked with Raul at Umass Medical Center for several years. Raul had a great sense of humor and was fun to work with. He always spoke of his family with such love and affection. I’m so glad I got to know him. He will be dearly missed.

Want to offer my condolences to the Santiago family! Pops was a good man and always left somewhere better than it was before he got there. He knew how to put a smile on your face even in your most trying moments. He will be missed and loved infinitely

I can't stop thinking about my brother from another mother. From the very first day we met , it has been a blast. From playing football in the office hallways of seaport , to taking you out to catch your first fish, to you finally getting me to go to a mets opener. I will always cherish the times we has together and with our families. I say this with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes....Sleep in peace brother ??????

I just want to thank Tio Raul for welcoming me with open arms into this family. He made me nervous at first, I knew I had to prove my worth. But he accepted me and even help out during hard times. He was like a father to my beautiful wife and a friend to me. Just wish I had more time to hang out in queens and catch a game or two. Even though he’s gone, his legacy continues. I’m proud to have known him and be part of his family. RIP

Gone but never forgotten

Raul was a very nice person, forever giving positive advice and being super honest and funny, the family has my deepest condolences at this time truly sorry for your loss.

It was my pleasure to have served with Raul while in the U S Army and to have worked along side him at the VA hospital. Raul was an outstanding soldier, an exceptional coworker, and a brother beloved. He will be sorely missed, yet always greatly appreciated. It is my prayer that the peace of GOD and Raul's legacy be a source of comfort for his family today and all ways.

So sorry to hear of Raul's passing. He was such a great man. In the little time I got to know him he was so good to me and my family. I am glad he took in my son Scott as his own. He always made me laugh. I pray for his soul and that we will all see each other again. Rest in Peace Tio Raul.

My deepest sympathies to Raul's family. Although I didn't know him well, I have such pleasant memories of my Grandson Scott's wedding when he "gave" away his niece, Kathy, acting on behalf of her late father. He and his family provided their home and property for a beautiful outdoor wedding enjoyed by all. May he rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon him and may your precious memories of him comfort you all. God bless and be with you at this sad time.

My heart is heavy at this time, you were a great man. A loving father, husband and grandfather to my little boy. I want to thank you one last time for everything you have done for my son. It means the world to me. We didn’t have a lot of times together but the times we did were some of the best times. It was like yesterday we were partying in your house. I was so drunk Ashley did a dance with a fake fishing pole to reel me in. You laughed at me for months lol. Im going to miss you. You never know how much you need a person until they are gone. This is so hard for me to accept man you have no idea. But I leave you with one last quote. Everyone in the world longs for a fathers love. You gave that love to me a son in law but most of all to your children and grand children. The thing we all have to realize is that the love is still our hearts and always will be.
