Rand Howard Newbergh

On November 18, 2025, of Sicklerville.  Age 71.  Beloved husband of Mary (nee McGrath).  Dear brother of Carolyn Newbergh and Michael Robinson.  Cherished son of the late Robert and Wynifred (nee Waranoff) Newbergh.  Also loved by nieces and nephews.

It is with great sadness to announce Rand “Randy” Howard Newbergh, 71, passed away on November 18, 2025, with his loving wife of 45 years by his side.

Born on April 21, 1954 in New Rochelle, New York and raised in Livingston, New Jersey, Randy attended Livingston High School before continuing his education at the University of Miami. He was the youngest of three siblings, cherished by his sister Carolyn (Kevin), his brother Michael (Sherry) and brother in-law Thomas (Catherine). He is the beloved uncle of Jennifer, Rebecca (John), Laurèn (Mike), Molly (Mel), Margaret (Dylan Sr.), Beau, Andrew (Molly) and Mark. Proud great-uncle to Danielle, Elodie, Lilah, Lincoln, Harrison, Grayson, Sutton, Dylan Jr., Thomas, Madeleine, Colin, Liesl, Hannah, and Raina.

In 1981, Randy and his wife Mary opened Randy’s Pizza, a beloved local spot they owned and operated together for nearly four decades, from May 1981 to May 2020. Their life together began in 1979, when they met at the Red Carpet Lounge in Maple Shade. They established their home in Gloucester Township, where they lived, worked, and enjoyed their lives together.

Randy was known by friends and family as a true Philadelphia sports connoisseur — the kind of fan who never missed a game. At the pizzeria, he even kept a small TV in the kitchen so he and Mary could watch their favorite teams while they worked side by side. He also had a deep appreciation for American muscle cars and loved taking them out for a drive. He had an effortless ability to relate to anyone, striking up conversations with strangers about sports, cars, or whatever brought people together in the moment. In quieter moments, one of his favorite treats was a simple bowl of ice cream.

Above all, Randy will be remembered as a warm, caring, and generous man. To his family, he was both dependable and carefree — someone who offered steady support while encouraging joy in everyday life. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp.  At 7:00 pm there will be a time of sharing thoughts, memories, prayers and love offered by friends and family.

In honor of Rand’s life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, his family would encourage any donations to the Eagle’s Autism Foundation.
