Ramon was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and moved to Brooklyn, New York at the age of seventeen. Like many of his generation, he worked many jobs before beginning a long and dedicated career with the Trinity Church Corporation on Wall Street, where he remained until his retirement in 1995.
Ramon was gifted with a beautiful tenor voice that brought joy to many. He sang in nightclubs and appeared on radio and television, sharing his talent with wide audiences. One unforgettable evening, when the scheduled piano player failed to appear, Dean Martin himself played piano for Ramon throughout the night—a moment that became a treasured family story.
Despite these remarkable experiences, Ramon’s greatest love was singing in church. He was a longtime member of the First Spanish Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, where he sang faithfully in the choir alongside his daughter and son. His voice was an expression of his faith, devotion, and love for his community.
Later in life, Ramon and his beloved wife, Dorothy, moved to South Jersey to be closer to their son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. There, Ramon continued to share his gift each Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church of Grenloch, where his tenor voice once again filled the sanctuary and uplifted all who heard it.
Ramon will be remembered for his faith, his dedication to family, and the music that flowed so naturally from his heart. His voice lives on in the memories of all who were blessed to hear it.
Family and friends are welcome to attend his viewing Tuesday, March 31st 6:00 – 8:00 PM & Wednesday, April 1st 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.
