Phyllis A. Greenwood (nee Liedel), was born in Philadelphia on May 27, 1948, lived in Marlton Lakes, and graduated from Lenape High School in Medford, NJ in 1966. Phyllis returned to school as an adult in 1978 and graduated from Temple University’s School of Pharmacy in 1983.
In her childhood she learned how to cook and sew, two skills in which she had tremendous pride. Anyone who tasted any of her pies, potato salad, or chocolate chip cookies could understand why. She gladly volunteered her time and energy to create dresses and decorative ring pillows for weddings, as well as Christening gowns, for anyone in need, including the children of Vince and Janet Papale.
Phyllis had two great passions in life: her family, and the Philadelphia Eagles. As a season ticket holder of the Eagles for over thirty years, she was able to enjoy these passions together by attending games with family and friends. She is best known for her unfathomable generosity, open door, and open heart, which created her far-reaching extended family.
Phyllis is survived by her three children, Rick Greenwood Jr. (Peggy), Buddy, Jennifer Cosgrove (Mark) and her five grandchildren, Ricky, Sage, Connor, Aidan, and Brooklynn. She is also the beloved sister of the late Fran Liedel, Stan Liedel (Kathleen), the late Donna Babicky, Rosita Haas (Dave), and sister-in-law Norma Liedel. Many nieces and nephews, with their families, were near and dear to her as well – Tim Liedel (Christy), Cindy DeGregory (Larry), Mike Liedel (Amy), Sheryl Bowen, Will Liedel, Scott Liedel (Shelly), Andrea Babicky, Gina Algado, Shannon Swanda (Chris), Erin Grelak (Kurt), Kevin Liedel (Joy), David Haas, Michael Haas, David Babicky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Saturday 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
