Patricia McGinley, a loving wife, devoted mother, and adventurous friend, has passed away. A true Philadelphia native, Pat will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her deep love of travel, and her unwavering zest for life.
Born and raised in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pat attended St. Francis Xavier grade school before graduating from Hallahan High School. She raised her three boys in Northeast Philadelphia’s Oxford Circle area before she and her husband, Jim, moved to New Jersey in the early 1980s.
Together, Pat and Jim created a wonderful life filled with travel and cherished moments with family and friends. For many years, they spent weekends and summers in North Wildwood, making memories with loved ones.
Pat’s love for travel took her on countless adventures. She had a special place in her heart for Disney and, with her close friends Mary and Val Chilelli, used their timeshare near Orlando to explore the world. Their travels took them across Florida, to the bright lights of Vegas, the sunny shores of Hawaii, and the scenic beauty of California. Beyond the United States, Pat also enjoyed trips to Rome, Bermuda, Aruba, and Cancun. One of her simple but treasured pleasures was hopping on the Cape May Ferry to enjoy a delicious crab cake lunch in Delaware.
An eternal optimist and adventurer, Pat’s most enduring wish was to go skydiving. While her family opted for a safer thrill, they gave her a helicopter tour of Philadelphia for her 78th birthday, a gift she adored. She loved every second of the flight and spoke of the experience with joy for the rest of her life.
Pat’s family and friends will miss her adventurous spirit, her passion for travel, and the love and joy she brought to every occasion. She and Jim had a wonderful life together, full of laughter and shared happiness.
Family and friends are welcome to attend her viewing Saturday, September 27th 10:15 – 11:45 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
