Norman O. Horn, was born on February 25, 1937, long time resident of Eddystone, Pa, most recently of Turnersville, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023. He was 86 years of age and attended Living Hope Worship Center for many years.
Family
Norman is predeceased in life by his wife Dorothy(Wood) of 48 years. His parents H. Norman and Blanche T(Johnson) Horn and his two dogs, Barney and Maggie.
He was a loving and caring son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. Norman loved his only sister Beverly Horn Funk. He was father to Dottie (Steve) Podolak, Norman(Roberta) Horn and David Horn & Andrea Serra. Grandfather to Catherine(Doug) Story, Caroline(John) Snell, Stephanie Podolak & Alina Salo, Mark Horn, Norman Horn & Amanda Reber, Amy(Matt) Stagliano, Laura(Mike) Sheldon, Emily Horn & Jimmy Perry, Shawn Horn, Felicia and Sophia Horn. Great Grandfather to Nicholas, Andrew, John, Danny, Evelyn, Logan, Lilly, Everett, Gwen and Margot. In addition to his immediate family, his sister in-law and family, Beth(Rodger) Laube, Betsy Laube, RJ(Danielle) Laube, Alison(Jay) Fredericks and Anthony Laube and their families played a major part in his life. Also his brother-in-law, Curtis(Judy) Wood, Jennifer(Ray) Daly and Curtis(Tricia) Wood and their families. He will also be missed by his niece, nephew and cousin, Debbie(Paul) Dugan, Danny(Tammy) Funk, Todd(David) Johnson and their families. Along with many friends and extended family.
Legacy
Norman was born and raised in Eddystone, Pennsylvania, moved to Brookhaven, Pa, then to Vineland, NJ in 1974, before returning to Eddystone in 1981. In 2014, he moved in with his son Norman, Roberta and family in Turnersville, NJ.
He worked at General Steel, Eddystone Police Officer(6yrs), Scott Paper, Hancox/Horn’s Catering and Giovanetti, Shulman Associates. For 20 years he was the Building Inspector for the Borough of Eddystone.
As a teenager and continuing into his adult years, he built, rebuilt and repaired cars, that was his passion. After receiving a model train while a child, his collection grew to include more than 25 sets, along with all the accessories. He would spend Thanksgiving evening to Christmas Eve constructing his platform in his Brookhaven home. He was the ultimate “Handyman”, never hesitating to fix or build anything at home or for family and friends. Norman spent many a Sunday in the Faith Baptist Choir, even sang a few solos(The King is Coming). For 7 holiday seasons loved to play one of the community Santa Clauses in Brookhaven, along with many, many Christmases for his family. Camping and entertaining family and friends at Hidden Acres Campground with his wife Dorothy was a love, this was their weekend retreat away and passion of theirs. Many hours he would spend watching and at the end listening to the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and 76ers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at Living Hope Worship Center, 1566 Center Square Rd, Swedesboro, NJ 08085, Friday, November 24th at 11am, a luncheon will be served at Living Hope after the service.
Followed by his burial at Chester Rural Cemetery, 441 West 21st, Chester, PA, 19013.
