Nicholas F. Muth

Passed away quietly at home in Williamstown at the Muth Family Farm on June 22, 2009. Age 89. Beloved husband of the late Martha nee Strittmatter. Devoted father of Nicholas J. Veronica, James, Martha Jane Pritchard, Frank, Robert Leda, Margaret Rose Muth Kirkby Alan and Mary Ellen Muth Michael Sherfey. Loving grandfather of Veronica Muth-Fanelli Michael, Laurie, Charlotte, Nicholas, Daniel, John and Samuel. Proud great-grandfather of 3. Dear brother of Magdalena “Lee” Hall. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and special caregivers Joy and Jacqueline.

Nick grew up in Salem County Yorktown on a dairy farm. He was a lifelong farmer, retiring from Owens Illinois after 25 years in 1980. He had great mechanical ability and a love of restoring antique tractors and motorcycles. He also raised purebred Hereford cattle and grew hay and corn on 43 acres. He partnered with his son, Robert, who continues to manage the family farm.

Dear Family & Especially Martha Jane My heart goes out to all of you in the loss of your Father. I remember Martha and I playing at the farm and feeding the cows turnips when we were little. Your Dad was always there working hard for his beautiful family. I moved away after high school & my Mom who still lives in Williamstown saw the notice. It touched me to think how time goes by so quickly but we forever keep our memories. May you all have fond memories to share and know that your Dad is probably having a peaceful, wonderful vacation.
