Mildred M. Paparella
(nee Ciraolo) On February 23, 2024, of Washington Twp. Age 85. Devoted mother of Anthony (Gina) and Michael Paparella (Lori). Loving grandmother of Gianna and Marissa. Dear sister of the late Bobby Ciraolo and Maryann Ciociola-Primo. Loved by nieces and nephews and their families.
Mildred was born in South Philadelphia on February 22, 1939. She grew up with her family, all living close by. She loved and valued family more than words can express.
Mildred went to work at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard after graduating Hallahan Catholic Girls Highschool. Later she was a special education teacher at Osage School in Voorhees after relocating to New Jersey in 1972. She returned to the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 1982.
Her heart was her two sons Anthony and Michael and her granddaughter who she always referred to as “My Gianna”. Her nieces and nephews were just as loved. She had the biggest, most understanding heart, always compassionate, caring, loyal, and supportive of her family and many friends. She was a great listener and tried to be there for her family and friends in times of need. Mildred had many friends who were extended family.
She loved everything Italian. Frank Sinatra, Andrea Boccelli. The Godfather, and Italian food that she loved to cook. She loved her hometown of South Philly. Her email was South Philly Millie.
She enjoyed movies especially The Notebook, The Bodyguard, Steel Magnolias, Sleepless in Seattle to name a few, she loved music, the beach, the casinos, and most of all loved to laugh.
Mildred enjoyed cooking and baking but especially for the holidays with her family. She wanted to maintain tradition and keep the family close. She loved Christmas and spent weeks decorating so everything was perfect.
She enjoyed spending time with her great nieces and nephews as there are quite a few.
In recent years, her favorite night was Friday as she would have dinner with her granddaughter Gianna.
Mildred touched so many lives with her warm and giving heart. Her legacy will live on through her family. She is loved and will be missed and remain in our hearts forever.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday 9:00-10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Washington Twp. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.
