Michael T. Pernie, Sr.

On December 5, 2022 of Washington Twp. Age 86. Beloved husband of the late MaryAnn (nee Zirilli). Devoted father of Michele Capone (Robert), the late Michael T. Pernie, Jr., and the late Brian Pernie. Loving grandfather of Robert, Jamie, Michael, Nicholas, Alicia, and Michael. Proud great-grandfather of Isabella, Salvatore, Santino, Stella, Adrianna, and Damian. Dear brother of Catherine Piernock and Mary Simaitis.

Michael known by those who were closest to him as Mike Gun was a lifetime longshoreman. He was an avid hunter, gun collector and amazing gunsmith.

He enjoyed shooting pool and usually winning most of the games he played. He was a league bowler and played on various teams. He also enjoyed his dogs, spending time with them and teaching them many tricks and commands.

At the time of his death, he was residing with his daughter, Michele and her husband Robert. He will be missed by his six grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of nearly sixty years. MaryAnn, as well as his two sons, are all hopefully together in the afterlife.

Mike was a man with a very strong presence, who will be sadly missed by many. May he rest in peace until we meet again.

Michael’s life will be honored and remembered privately by his family.
