Matthew E. Price, on August 12, 2013, of Washington Twp. Age 26. Beloved son of Edward F. and Carol A. (nee Gurchick). Dear brother of Timothy. Loving grandson of George and Anna Gurchick and Russell A. and the late Dorothea Price. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and his dear friend Nicole.
Matt was a hard-working, loyal and dedicated young man. A 2005 graduate of Washington Township High School, he went on to graduate with a B.A. degree in Communications from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Matt was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers fan who also enjoyed local high school sports. He was such a Philly sports fan that he interned for several seasons as a statistician at WIP Radio for the Philadelphia Eagles NFL games. He was always hopeful for an Eagles Super Bowl win.
Growing up, Matt loved fishing with his Pop George and drinking coffee with his Pop Buddy. An annual tradition that Matt enjoyed was decorating the Christmas tree with his parents, brother and grandparents. Dad’s annual Christmas breakfasts with Mom, Timmy and best friends “Moe” and Johnny and family friends Donna & Joe were also special times. Matt also liked having breakfast at Angelo’s in Glassboro with his brother, Timmy, and girlfriend Nicole, and stopping by the Twp. Deli where he was employed during his college years. A little known fact about Matt is that he had quite an extensive sneaker collection.
Matt was loved dearly and will be missed by his family, neighbors, and countless friends, and the faithful family dog, Scout.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 8:15 – 10:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Matthew’s memory to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Lockbox #1352, P.O. Box 8500, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com

I have been reflecting on my memories of Matt since I heard the news of his death this week. I had not seen Matt since high school, but we shared several classes together throughout those four years. Matt was nothing sort of a great person, someone I always had a friend in. I knew that if I ever needed anything Matt would be there. I'm so sorry to hear about this loss. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. I hope you can find peace in knowing how many people loved him and how many lives he touched.

Matt was always happy and smiling. I worked for and with Matt and I never seen someone do his thing like he did. He wasn't done til he was finished. Those 98 degree days were brutal but it never seemed to bother him. Matt went to school, graduated, and played ball with my brother. He was there for my family when my Dad left this world in 2010 and never stopped. Family&friends, I never met anyone that knew Matt.. But we were close friends for the past three years.. I'm so hurt and crushed to think this happened to such an amazing person and someone who meant so much to me.. We had our ups and downs yet I loved him deeply.. My condolences and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I knew Matt for quite sometime. He told it like it it was and if he doubted anything he would question it. I worked for and with Matt and I never seen someone do his thing like he did. He wasn't done til he was finished. Those 98 degree days were brutal but it never seemed to bother him. Matt went to school, graduated, and played ball with my brother. He was there for my family when my Dad left this world in 2010 and never stopped.
