I will always have fond memories of "Ma". called her Ma because she was like a mother to me. She helped me so many times.... taught me how to cook many things and say some interesting (bad) words in Italian....I loved her! She never knocked on my door...she just walked in because she was always welcomed in my house and was part of our family. She came in to my house every day for coffee. When it was real hot (neither one of us had air conditioning in our houses....but I had one in my bedroom) she would come over and have coffee in my bedroom where the air conditioner was and we would watch our soap operas while the kids played games on the floor. My kids have many, many fond memories of Marie. She used to lend me money when I needed to put groceries on the table or hire a plumber when our toilet was stopped up and never, ever, said "No". She used to say, "The poor help the poor." I will always treasure her and will always have wonderful things to say about her.....she was a true friend! We were neighbors for 19 years but I knew her longer than that. I will miss her more than anyone can know.....she will always have a special place in my heart. I wished I would have had the chance to say goodbye. I love you, Marie and always will. Edna Steinmetz and Family

Gran, u, mommy, Kelly and I lived together for a long time, you helped mommy raise us and we drove u crazy lol. I will cherish those memories on 63rd st always as well as all the memories after 63rd st. I remember sitting in the kitchen and just talking to you for hours. You gave me my foundation in cooking and my passion to cook. I always asked you a ton of questions and was always so interested in our family history. You had the best stories ! The viewings ! How can I forget you always taking me to viewings, you probably went to a different one each week and told us "don't be afraid of the dead, be afraid of the living" I have so many grandmom quotes that I live by. You and I shared such a special bond that I carry with me always in my heart. I take comfort in knowing you lived a long full life. You were content with the simple things in life and truly enjoyed your friends and family. A lot of people don't understand how tough you had it since you were 9 years old and your mother passed and you pretty much took care of your father and brothers. It made you the tough strong woman you were but you had such a soft spot for your kids and grandkids. I can go on and on keep typing but I will stop and say rest in peace beautiful lady...you deserve the rest and the reunion with grandpa who you have talked so much about. ...I love you with all my heart Gran...your Michael xoxo

I grew up under the sharp watch of this beautiful person who gave me love and always excepted my life style . For this I am very thankful to have known her. Mary rose was a woman ahead of her times. She loved babies ,always interested in what young people had to say and always looked after older friends, then herself . I will always remember her with great love in my heart . A wonderful wife, a loving mother and a loving and caring grand mom . For me a friend who always wanted to know how I was . I was lucky to have had her in my life . Thank you Maria for sharing your mom with your friends.... Rocco Giancaterino
