Martha (Modesta) Constance Mirabella, 98 years of age, formerly of Utica, New York passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 23rd. She was a current resident of the Kennedy Health Center Nursing Home in Sewell, New Jersey.
She was born Modesta Carrano on September 6, 1919 in New York City and is pre-deceased by her husband, Charles Louis Mirabella, dating back to January of 1958. She leaves a legacy of love, perseverance and kindness behind. Her commitment to family was unwavering as she raised and guided her three children, following the passing of her beloved husband.
Martha, in passing, leaves behind her children, Patricia Balliet of Sewell, NJ; Charles Mirabella and wife, Karen of Wake Forest, NC and Michael Mirabella of Atlanta, GA.
Along with her children, she leaves behind eleven grandchildren, Michael James Balliet and wife, Dawn of Naples, FL, Christine DeLong and husbance Dave of Carlsbad, CA, Sean Balliet and wife, Suzanne of Mullica Hill, NJ and Danielle Balliet of Mays Landing, NJ; Christopher Mirabella and wife Kim of Slingerlands, NY, Jennifer Conte and husband Alex of Wake Forest, NC and Tricia Mirabella, also of Wake Forest, NC; Ashlee Mirabella of Atlanta, GA, Michael Mirabella of Boulder, CO, Joseph Mirabella of Boulder, CO and Nicholas Mirabella of Alpharetta, GA. Martha also leaves behind eleven great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her two loving brothers, Michael and Ramon Carrano.
Martha was a devout Catholic and her faith was such a critical part of who she was and how she conducted her life. She was an amazing woman who inspired all of those around her, both friends and family.
A wake will be held on Tuesday morning, September 26th from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, both at The Church of the Holy Family in Sewell, NJ. The noon burial service will be held at the family plot at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, Long Island, NY on Wednesday, September 27th.
