Marie R. Pellecchia

(nee Smith)  On February 22, 2024 of Washington Twp.  Age 81.  Beloved wife of the late John.  Devoted mother of Lisa Marie Caniglia (Michael), Stephanie Hepworth (Robert), Susan Shoman, John Pellecchia (Barbara) and Joseph Pellecchia.  Loving grandmother of Rachel, Candace, Victoria, Michael, Christina, Christian, Alex, Joshua, Sarah, Noah and Christopher.   Proud great-grandmother of Gianna and Daisia.  Great-great-grandmother of Saint.  Dear sister of Sarah Fusinatti and Carol Cione.

Marie R Shoman Pellecchia, age 81 passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She dedicated her life to the service of others. Marie was a nurse for many years and then went on to open a Guest House in Ocean City NJ, called “Marie’s Ocean Breeze.”  Marie and her husband John Pellecchia put so much love and care in creating a place that loved ones and family could gather and make memories.

She was never afraid to stand up for what she believed in, so much so that Marie ran for Mayor of Ocean City under the Independent party.

Faith ran deep in her heart and she loved God with her whole being.

Marie love the beach and took trips to Florida as often as possible. She gave so much love, strength, and courage to all that knew her.  Marie’s legacy lives on in her 5 children and her grandchildren. We will carry her love and beautiful spirit in our hearts and remember her stories and how much she loved to laugh. It was important to her that she is remembered with joy and not sadness.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday March 1^st 9:00-10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp.  Funeral service 10:30 AM.  Interment, Atlantic County Veteran’s Cemetery, Mays Landing.
