Mariann Fidelis De Goes, born on April 19, 1956, in Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, in Washington Township, at the age of 70.

Mariann leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever. She is survived by her devoted husband, Nelson, her beloved children, Andrew (Yuri), Christian, and Elyse and her precious grandchildren, Anna and Nina. She is also survived by her cherished siblings, Beth Farino (Ronald), and Richard Szerbin (Stacey). She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Rita (nee Krynski), and her brother, Frank Szerbin.

Mariann dedicated many years of her career to the field of clinical research, where she made significant contributions while working as a Drug Developer for Covance and Astra Zeneca. Her professional life was marked by a commitment to excellence and a compassionate spirit that touched the lives of those she worked with.

A devoted family woman, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life, always reminding those around her just how lucky they were to share in these moments.

Mariann’s heart was often pulled to Cape May, where she delighted in watching dolphins and whales dance across the ocean, and where visits to Beach Plum Farm became treasured traditions. Her love for the sea was rivaled only by her fondness for riding the golf cart around Wading Pines campground, a pastime that brought her immense joy and relaxation.

In South Philadelphia, she was affectionately known as “Mary” as she frequented the Italian markets, savoring the vibrant atmosphere and rich flavors. A true Philadelphian at heart, Mariann cheered passionately for the Phillies and Eagles, her enthusiasm for her teams unwavering.

Her spirit came alive during the Mummers Parade, where she reveled in the music and camaraderie, particularly enjoying the performances of the Polish-American String Band. Through each of these experiences, Mariann cultivated happiness and warmth that she generously shared with all who knew her.

There will be a mass in her honor at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. on Sunday, October 4th at 10:00 am.
