Marguerite Regina (nee Gaffney) Smith, age 92, of Turnersville, NJ died peacefully on July 29, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late William Lewis Smith. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Edward R. Gaffney, O.D. and Marie K. Gaffney. Marguerite was a graduate of Little Flower High School.
Aunt Marge was a mother hen to her many nieces and nephews. Their love for her was great. She brought peace and balance to their lives at times. She was a rare jewel who will be held in the hearts of many. Marge, as she was called, was the sister of the late William F. Radcliffe, Edward Gaffney, and Marie Shelly. She is survived by sister Dorothy Wilcox, many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Aunt Marge loved to read a good novel, volunteer for the aged and watch the Phillies and Eagle games.
On Tuesday August 10th there will be a visitation from 10:30 am to 11:30 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 178 Stagecoach Rd., Sicklerville, NJ. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made in her memory to her great niece’s endowment at Rowan University Foundation, Katharine Brower Endowment (Memo), 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, NJ 08028 or to a favorite charity.
