nee McDermott on August 17, 2011, of Washington Township. Loving daughter of the late Margaret and Francis McDermott. Beloved wife of the late James P. Burns. Devoted mother of Margaret DiGiacomo Michael, and James M. Burns Anne Marie. Cherished mom-mom of James Anthony Burns. Dear sister of Edward McDermott and the late James, Frank and Harry McDermott. Aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Mary Kay Burns, Marie Burns and the late Mary Fries, Dolores and Patricia McDermott.
M.M. was born on March 17, 1923, in Philadelphia. She graduated from Cecilian Academy and worked at Bell Telephone. In 1953, M.M. married James P. Burns and lived in Northeast Philadelphia until 1964 when her family moved to Washington Township. She was one of the founding members of St. Charles Borromeo Church and a long time member and past president of the Sacred Heart Guild.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing 8:30 to 10:15 am Saturday morning at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am. Interment New St. Mary?s Cemetery.
