Margaret E. Usher

(nee Riegg) on May 30, 2024, of Washington Twp.  Age 89.  Beloved wife of the late James.  Devoted mother of Ray Usher (Bev), Jackie Steiner (Harry), James Usher (Jennifer), Matthew Usher (Susan), Suze McClernan (the late Michael).  Loving grandmother of Dan, Kevin, Tracy, Brian, Jamie, Victoria, James, Mary, Kathleen, Joseph, Matthew Jr., Glenn, Patrick and Brendan.  Proud great-grandmother of Noah, Hank, Reid, Maggie, Danny, Logan, Emily, Colin, Colton, Nolan, Brynn, Jack and Brynnley.

Margaret E. Usher “Margie” was born on April 14th, 1935 in Northeast Philadelphia to Raymond and Susanna Riegg. She attended Little Flower High School. She met the love of her life Jim “Honeyboy” Usher, and was married on October 30th, 1954.

They settled in Bell’s Lake in Washington Township in 1960. In 1971 they built a home in in Gardendale in Washington Township, where they raised five children. She was an active member of Saint Jude’s Parish, and later Saint Charles Borromeo. She was active in many civic associations over the years.  She loved gardening, reading, music, and Wildwood. She enjoyed relaxing in her garden which she called “Bird Land “. She loved animals, and had many pets over the years.  Later in life she became a huge bingo fan, and an avid Phillies fan.  Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved large family events especially Usher Day. She enjoyed spending time and reminiscing with her cousin Margie Hesson.  Over the last year she moved to Washington Township Senior Living where she made many friends, and loved the staff.

We are requesting everyone that attends the service to wear Phillies attire or dress casual.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday, June 7^th at 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp.  Funeral Service 11:00 am.
