Luis Eduardo Salcedo, II (“Ed” or “Eddie”)
May 21, 1955 – December 29, 2024
Luis Eduardo Salcedo II, known to friends and family as Ed or Eddie, passed away suddenly on December 29, 2024. He was 69 years old and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ed was born on May 21, 1955 in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Luis Eduardo Salcedo and Alegria (Arteaga) Madden. As a teenager he immigrated to Philadelphia, where he attended Bishop Neumann High School. He became a proud US citizen in 1997, yet remained deeply connected to his Ecuadorian roots, always cherishing and sharing fond memories of his childhood in Guayaquil. He lived in and raised his family in Glassboro, NJ. He worked in the freight forwarding industry for 43 years and, later in life, became a realtor. He spent his life surrounded by love, with a deep commitment to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Karen (Jeffs) Salcedo; his son, Luis “Eddie” Salcedo III, his partner Jessica Williams, and their children, Amelia and Nathaniel; his daughter, Courtney Salcedo, and her husband, Carlos Rendon; his mother, Alegria Madden; and his mother-in-law, Joan (Lukens) Kilofas.
Ed’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially playing with his cherished grandchildren, who affectionately call him Coco-Pops. Ed’s family has fond memories of him coaching soccer, dancing, taking the boat out on the bay in the summertime, playing pinochle and driving to Tuckerton while listening to music together. He was a constant source of support and care for his loved ones, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. He had a warm presence that made everyone feel like they were part of the family.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, January 7th, 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp, NJ. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am.
In honor of Ed’s life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, his family would encourage any donations to the Epilepsy Foundation.
Ed will forever be remembered for his kind spirit, unwavering love for his family, and his infectious warmth.
