Leonard Jurczykowski
On October 5, 2026, of Washington Twp. Age 93. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (nee Lawrenz). Devoted father of Cheryl Capriotti (Robert) and Amanda Kircher (Christopher). Loving Dziadzi of Madalyn, Jacob, Anabella, Zoie and Benjamin. Dear brother of the late Chester, Alexander and Walter.
Leonard was born and raised in Camden, NJ. Leonard graduated from Camden High School in 1951. After high school, he worked at RTC Shipbuilding Company as a tack welder on the construction of tugboats and fishing boats. Leonard enlisted into the Navy in 1952. He served during the Korean War on the USS Wasp aircraft carrier as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Third Class working on the flight deck responsible for moving aircraft. Upon discharge from the Navy in 1956, Leonard returned to work at RTC. After the shipyard closed, Leonard spent the next 20 years at Camden Alloy Fabricators and subsequently spending the remaining of his career at PSI.
Leonard and Gladys met when they both were members of St. Lucia’s Choir at St. Joseph’s Church. They married in 1963 and moved to Turnersville, NJ in 1965. Here, they began to build their life together in a new home where they welcomed two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Amanda. Leonard and Gladys were also very active in their local parish, Sts. Peter and Paul Church, where Leonard was a member of the choir. They also enjoyed having monthly get-togethers with a group of cousins and friends.
Leonard had many loves and talents in his life. He loved boating, fishing and hunting. He was a lifelong Eagles and Phillies fan. He enjoyed playing and watching golf. Leonard played the accordion and organ. He was also a jack of all trades, whether it was changing oil in his car, home projects or cooking up a bushel of crabs. His family and his faith were always the two most important things in his life. He especially cherished spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Dad, drive safe and say your prayers.
