Larry and I shared a lots of things, even a birthday, Feb 13, 1943. Who hasn’t heard the story of my mother going into labor and Aunt Grace’s brother driving her to the hospital, and then Aunt Grace went into labor, too. A running joke between Larry and me, “Who’s older, you or me. We grew up a few blocks from each other in West Phila. I loved to go to their house. I think they had the first TV. I loved Aunt Grace’s laugh and was in awe of Uncle Joe, the detective. We shared a lot of good times…Sundays at Grandmom’s house at 8th and Reed….so many cousins. Summer days on the farm in Pennsgrove, Larry, Peter , Mary and I often together….chasing chickens, picking tomatoes, and holding our noses at the outhouse…no plumbing at the old farmhouse. Memorable moments from a simpler time. I am glad, Betsy, that we got to celebrate our mutual birthdays together for so many years. He was a wonderful man. I will miss him, but always remember him with love. Maryann
