Lawrence J. O’Donnell, Sr.

Larry O’Donnell, of Washington Township, NJ, formerly South Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024 at the age of 99 years old.

Larry was the devoted husband of 60 years to the late Carmela (Mimi) nee Sharbo and the loving father of the late Lawrence J. O’Donnell, Jr. (Bobbi Ann) and of Janice M. Boyle (Michael).  Loving grandfather of Lawrence, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Edward and Gregory O’Donnell.  Proud great-grandfather of Ryan and Maddie O’Donnell. Dear brother of Dr. Robert O’Donnell, and the late Daniel O’Donnell and Mary St. Clair.  Loving uncle to his many “favorite” nieces and nephews.

Honored US Navy veteran serving during World War II. Larry was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Somerdale, choir with his son Larry.  Later, he moved to The Holy Family Church Community, Sewell, where he enjoyed being part of their choir and became a lector at daily mass.  Larry retired from GMAC Mortgage Company as their Vice President of Settlements. Running a close second after his love for his family, Larry loved many hours of playing the trumpet and piano along with enjoying the sounds of Jazz and Big Bands.  He shared his love of baseball with his grandchildren and can be seen carrying his beach chair from their many baseball, basketball, tennis and wrestling matches.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday, January 26^th 9:30-11:00 AM at the Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Township.  Mass of Christian Burial 11:15 AM. Entombment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
