Kathleen Senlick
(nee Kelly) On October 11, 2023 of Washington Twp. Age 80. Beloved wife of Edward Senlick, Sr. Devoted mother of Edward Senlick, Jr., (Susan), Brian Senlick (Laurie), and Beth Solanet (Felipe). Loving grandmother of Edward, III, Daniel, Andrew, Kaylee, Felipe, Emily, and Christian. Dear sister of Tim Kelly (Trish), Ann Woznicki (Kevin), Mary Locasale (Vince), the late John Kelly, Jr. (Rande), the late Joe Kelly (Tina), and the late Tish Brennan (the late Jack). Loved by nieces and nephews.
Kathy was born on June 28, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the oldest of 7 children. Her strong maternal instinct started at a very young age as she helped her mother care for her siblings. Kathy always cherished her bonds with her parents and siblings and she loved them unconditionally.
Kathy’s greatest achievement was being a devoted wife, loving mother, caring mother-in-law, and grandmother to her 3 children and their spouses, and her 7 grandchildren. Her marriage to Ed was blessed with unending love, dedicated care and support, and happy memories. Kathy proudly shared with everyone she met that Ed and her had been happily married for 59 years. Their marriage defined the image of true love. She loved celebrating her wedding anniversaries, especially the surprise 25th wedding anniversary party at her sister Ann’s house as well as the 50th anniversary that was celebrated in Myrtle Beach with her children and grandchildren as well as her sister-in-law, Rande and her children, Samantha and Jay, and their families. Even the anniversaries in between those milestones were always special to her and she got great joy in all the beautiful roses and flowers that her husband always bought for her.
Kathy was the mother that most aspired to be. She was selfless, loving, and supportive of all three of her children. Her dream was to grow up and become a wife and mother. She enjoyed the years she had raising her children at home. She did join the workforce in the late 70’s till she retired in the 90’s. Although she was an excellent assistant manager at Cigna Insurance, her true identity and value came from her role as mother and wife.
Kathy loved being a Grandmother. She proudly talked about all 7 of her grandchildren to everyone she met. She always found a way to mention them in conversations. You could see that they were at the center of her thoughts and had a huge piece of her heart. She was the grandmother that always welcomed each of them with a warm hug and a big smile.
Kathy shared great interest in knowing all about each of her children and grandchildren’s lives. She really enjoyed hearing about her grandchildren’s accomplishments in school and work. She especially liked hearing about their love lives. Through it all she connected with each of us and felt the same emotions that we did whether it was in times of joy or times of anxiety and worry.
Kathy was loved by so many. She maintained friendships with her girlfriends from childhood. She always talked fondly of her times with Patsy, Kathy, and Maureen. She loved when they came to visit her in her house by the beach or when they called just to chat.
Kathy touched every person she met. The people she met while visiting her daughter in Florida, her neighbors from prior homes, her children’s in-laws, her cousins, her caretakers, and everyone in between always remember Kathy as the sweetest and nicest person with great faith in God and the blessed Mother Mary.
Kathy will be greatly missed by all but especially by her husband, Ed, her children, Ed and Sue, Brian and Laurie, Beth and Felipe, as well as her 7 grandchildren Ed, Dan, Andrew, Kaylee, Felipe, Emily, and Christian. God bless you, Kathy.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 12:00 PM.
