Katherine “Kas” Plies (nee Rogers), age 85, of Sewell NJ, passed away June 5, 2022. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Charles and Anna (nee Martin) Rogers on December 26, 1936.
Kas grew up in Philadelphia in Germantown, East Falls, and Olney areas before moving to Sewell NJ. She attended Little Flower Catholic High School. She began her career at Bell Telephone as a telephone switchboard operator and later as a supervisor of telecommunications at Albert Einstein Medical Center, fittingly with her talkative nature. She loved spending summer vacations with her siblings Mary, Jack, Charles, and Ann. She lived with and was very close to her wonderful cousins Claire, Theresa, Margie, Franny, Jimmy, Johnny, and Cathy Morrison, also enjoying fun trips together at the Wildwood shore. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, with her favorites being trips to the Jersey shore, Poconos, and amusement parks. She loved books, crosswords, ice cream, and listening to Elvis.
Kas is predeceased by her late husband Horst Plies, and previous husband William Loughery. Kas is survived by her children Bill Loughery (Diane) of Garnet Valley PA, Dan Loughery, Horst John Plies, and Kathe Pape (Ken) of Sewell NJ, and the late Tom and Karen Loughery. Her grandchildren Katelyn (Matt), Kristin (Mario), Erika, Emily, Tom Jr, Kylie, Johnny, Ryan, Jarrod, Chelsea, Samantha, and Victoria – with her first great-grandchild on the way.
