Joy Evelyn DiPatri (nee Gubbings), of Franklinville, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, at the age of 83.

Joy is the beloved wife of the late Nicholas L. DiPatri.  She is the devoted mother of Nicholas DiPatri and his wife Jean Lutes, Kim Hollywood and Deanna Ruble and her husband Dean.  Loving grandmother of Scott, Zachary, Sara Joy, Anthony, Gianna, William and Evelyn.  Proud great-grandmother of Aria, Atlas, Rowan, Cooper and Saylor. Dear sister of John Gubbings (Cathy Knapper) and the late Glen and Gary Gubbings.  Joy is the cherished daughter of the late John and Evelyn Gubbings.

Joy DiPatri was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and working professional. She was a self-taught software engineer and was in charge of a full team of developers before she retired in her seventies. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, Nick – less so on the back of the motorcycle in their later years, however. Joy was lucky enough to be surrounded by her family her entire life. Until the very end, she would spend hours with her daughters playing the Rummikub tile game and helping her grandkids pay for life’s incidentals.

A visitation to honor Joy’s life will be held on Thursday, September 24th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Franklinville United Methodist Church, 1525 Coles Mill Road, Franklinville. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with inurnment taking place at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joy’s memory may be made to the Franklinville United Methodist Church, 1525 Coles Mill Road, Franklinville, NJ 08322.
