Josephine Corsaro, 96 from Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2017. Born December 26, 1920, she was the loving wife of Domenic Corsaro. Caring sister of Concetta, Salvatore, Domenic, Joseph, John, Alfredo, and Matthew Giuffrida. Beloved mother of Matthew, Mario, Salvatore and Domenic Corsaro. Devoted grandmother of Mario Corsaro Jr., Michael Corsaro, Michael Reale, David Corsaro, Dina DiMauro, Michele Dietz, Denise Oncay, Lisa Corsaro (deceased), Domenic Corsaro III (deceased) and Joseph Corsaro. Cherished great-grandmother of Stephanie Franklin, Stephan Wister, Mario Corsaro III, Alexis Oncay, Brooke Oncay, Anthony DiMauro III, Lisa DiMauro, Katie Wister, Collin Oncay, Christopher Corsaro, Nico Corsaro, Rocco Corsaro, and Davia Corsaro. She was even a great-great grandmother to Teagan Franklin.
Growing up during the Great Depression, Josephine was hard-working from a very young age. She dedicated much of her time to the family farm, picking asparagus and tomatoes with her brothers. She met her husband Domenic, and the two were married on January 21, 1940. Together they ran a butcher shop from their home, until the early 1960s. She later worked for Freda Meats, becoming supervisor of the family company for the next 30 years. Strong and motivated, Josephine provided for her family and will be greatly missed.
