Joseph J. McAllister

On August 1, 2026, of Mullica Hill, NJ. Age 69. Beloved husband of Gesi (nee Santoleri). Devoted father of Anna McAllister and the late Sean McAllister. Loving grandfather of Sean (Anna Voltaggio), Anthony, and Kayla. Dear son of Anna (nee Kane) and the late Thomas McDevitt. Dear brother of Thomas McDevitt, Karen Loeb (Edward), and the late Brian McDevitt. Loved by nieces and nephews.

Joseph was a proud 1975 graduate of Father Judge High School. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, generous spirit, and love of family. He was an avid reader whose appreciation for good food was matched only by the pleasure he found in sharing it with family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to attend his visitation Thursday, August 6^th 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. & Friday, August 7^th10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Clare of Assisi, Swedesboro. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Swedesboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In memory of Joseph J. McAllister, Tim Coleman lit a candle

I was Joe's boss at Bradley Communications Corp. He was the kind of person who made work fun and creative. His fantastic sense of humor could lighten up the most boring and routine meetings. His levity helped me not take myself so seriously. Joe, was passionate about serving the customers and sharing with us what they were most interested in. He was an excellent salesperson. He and I grew closer in the last year of his life, and it was inspiring to see how his faith and reliance on God grew more and more. He often bragged about how amazing his wife, daughter and grandsons were, and he had real specifics to back it all up (like any good marketing copywriter). I''ll continue to keep all of you in my prayers.

My deepest condolences to your entire family

I was fortunate to know Joe as a neighbor, and even in that simple connection, his goodness was unmistakable. He was a man who lived his values — especially his devotion to family — in a way that quietly inspired those around him. I pray that God’s comfort surrounds the whole family in this time of loss, and that the legacy of Joe’s love continues to shine through the generations he cared for so deeply.

Gesi, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your husband, Joe. My heart goes out to you and your family. Please know I'm thinking of you and am here for you in the days ahead. Miss you Joe! I was Blessed to call you a Friend. We spent many years laughing and learning, all through the St Dominic's Grade School years, then off to Father Judge! Your quick wit, humor, compassion, toughness and adventurousness, was a joy to be around! Whether it was riding the bridal trails of Pennypack Park, on our Schwinn Varsity 10 speeds ( no mountain bikes back then) or strapping on the Pop Warner Football helmets, you always will be one of the most important persons I was privileged to know ( and Love!) I appreciate that you were a Man of Faith, a Family Man, and a Friend to those in need! That is an Impressive Life's Resume! We are all better for having been in your presence ! God called you home! Rest in Peace Crusader!

Joe was such a joy to work with. He brightened every day in Broomall. Either at the office, or a publicity event, Joe was always a much welcomed sight. Tonight he is celebrates with His Ancestors. His memory will always be a blessing for me.

I heard Joe speak at an event when I first was getting to know him and he was so funny I literally had tears coming out of my eyes. I told him afterwards that I would have been happy to pay money for his performance. As I got to know Joe better, it was easy to love him for the man he was. Kind, compassionate, and giving. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time with him. I always wanted to.
