Joseph J. Becker, on May 22, 2017, of Glassboro. Age 94. Beloved husband of Romaine (nee Izbiansky). Dear grandfather of Jay Becker (Carla), Catina Carrillo and Adelena Anglin. Devoted great-grandfather of 6, especially Tom Velez (Jayne) and Francisco Carrillo. Great great-grandfather of Joseph, Genevieve and John. He is also survived by his nephew, Joseph Vicario, brother-in-law Richard Cloeren and his family, a daughter and many nieces and nephews.
Joe worked at duPont in Philadelphia as a Chief Chemical Operator and served as the union president for over 20 years. He proudly and valiantly served his country in the Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant in World War II, being stationed in Guadalcanal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday, May 30th, 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Wednesday, May 31st, 9:00 – 10:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at St. Bridget’s RC Church, 202 Ellis Ave., Glassboro 08028. Interment Gloucester County Veterans’ Cemetery, Williamstown.
