Still thinking of you brother!
On behalf of the Sklar family, especially the late Eric Sklar, we offer our most sincere condolences to the family. Our family was close to Joe back in our high school band years. We can only echo so many nice words said about Joe. He was truly the "nicest guy in the world" Some day, we'll all be together. GS
I'm still in shock brother! I can't believe you are no loner here. Its hard to say goodbye to someone you've known almost all your life! Memories slow down the tears, especially the funny memories; which we made plenty of. I'd say save a room for me but I don't think my path is in the same direction as you! God only takes the best and you my friend were one of the best!
I had the privilege of working with Joe this past year and the Philaport team. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful, kind man and did not deserve this. my deepest condolences to his family.

Condolences to family and friends. I never met Joe only on the streams from Funny Farm in Facebook
Your radiance and not for life will always be remembered.
What a great guy! Joe you were always kind to me, encouraging, friendly, funny. You shared your pizzelles with me and we talked about italian foods, recipes. I loved and remembered when we were a part of the Christmas musical and choir at church. I know you are now playing lead in the Heavenly Band. You will be missed! Thank you Joe for being you!!!
Rest in Peace Jim. I will miss seeing on the Funny Farm and all your gardening tips.
My thoughts & prayers are with you as you say goodbye to your beloved son, Joseph. Knowing he is in God’s Kingdom & will be watching over you! God bless you all, your friend in Christ, Esther Benedetto Bovo.

OUR CONDOLENCES, WE ONLY KNEW JOE WHEN HE VISITED RONNIE & DAN IN VENTNOR, BUT WHAT A GREAT PERSON HE WAS, ALWAYS FRIENDLY & SMILING & SO HANDSOME.
OUR PRAYERS FOR JOE AND HIS FAMILY.
Joe was a true friend, a person of high integrity and authenticity. I will always treasure the fun times we had together -- the laughs, crab buffets, groundhog evictions, super bowl parties and family celebrations. His memory is eternal!
Joe was such a big part of our PhilaPort works family, and will forever be missed. Joe, you were such a big influence and guide throughout my years at the port, and it will be rough going on without you. This week has been too quiet without you. But we will keep you with us every day. Thank you for everything. Joe was the best of us. Always positive, with a smile, a laugh, and with a helping hand. A great friend to all. My sincerest condolences go out to the Petruzzi family. Know we are all thinking of you and have you in our hearts.
Rest easy Joe, I’ll miss you.

It's a rare person who is mourned by those who didn't even know him. I only spoke to Joe a handful of times, but the news that he had passed filled me with sorrow, as if I'd lost a brother or dear friend. What a bright and friendly guy, filled with good humor -- and that handsome smile! I loved him on the Funny Farm show, especially when he played his horn, and followed all his tips in my own garden at home. I'll treasure the memory of a recent friendly conversation we had. God bless you, Joe. I'll always think of you with affection.
My condolences to Joe Petruzzi's family. May he rest in peace.
My sincerest prayers and condolences to the entire Petruzzi family and all of Joe's friends. I'm thankful you shared such a wonderful soul with PhilaPort for all these years.
Joe, I just want to say thanks for everything. I'm so thankful for the years of friendship, sharing an office, having you as my boss, "big brother" and countless other amazing roles you fulfilled in throughout my adult life. Thanks for always being there....
And Joe, I'm really sorry for that one time, you know the time.
Love,
Your forever elf.....Kate
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Joe for 20 years and he was not only a great co-worker but a good friend. My kids still talk about Santa (Joe) coming to the office every Christmas Eve. Joe even took me and my family out crabbing one summer where my kids who were little at the time affectionally referred to him as crabber-Joe. The next Christmas my youngest son told me on the way home from the office that he thought Santa looked just like crabber-Joe...Joe loved that story. Rest in peace Joe...I will miss you.
You are in my heart and in my prayers, and thinking of you always.
So sad to lose such a good friend and a good person I’ve known Joey for 30 years. I will miss you.
Joe, you will always be remembered for your kindness, caring and that big smile of yours. So happy to have met you at The Funny Farm and the big hug you always gave me. I'll miss our texts during football season. Fly high, Joe, love "Aunt Sue" . My sincere condolences to your family and friends, especially Laurie.
So sorry to hear about your loss! Many prayers for you and your family during this time.

I will miss you Dear Friend, we always made one another laugh even when we both were busy as can be. I know that you are above looking down on all of us and saying,
" This is what God wanted and I'm OK".
The only comfort i have is knowing that the Port has its very own Guardian Angel now!
Love you Dear Friend,,,,, you were and always will be THE BEST!!.
Man you will be missed. Fly High and always send the ?. Forever a Farm Brother/Uncle the kids miss you deeply but we will do you proud raising them to know gardening and a love for the earth just like Hot Joe??????
I'm at a loss for words...but my photos captured indelible memories. I am proud to have known Joe... and inspired by his zest for practicing all that's good in life. Thank you, Joe.
I was Joe’s HS music teacher - actually met him in 8th grade. We never lost touch, and grew to be very close friends through the years. We worked together on various projects, we lured each other into our hobbies, and we played and played together (like kids…like musicians). We ate together…that boy could eat! Oh, and we got each other into “trouble” together, and then we’d laugh about it. We laughed…a lot.
As a teacher, I accumulated trophies. They are personal trophies, and very valuable. My trophy case got filled as I heard about and read stories of what my former students did and are doing with their lives after leaving WTHS. This was the most gratifying aspect of my career. I say this to share that Joe is a huge trophy in my case. Could be because we knew each other for so many years? Maybe because I am in awe of the number of people whose lives he touched? So many of you? I admire Joe. He is a class act. I think he helped me be a better person. Who taught who?
I love Joe. When Janice told me she would be working late tonight, my immediate thought was to invite him over for dinner; then I caught myself. With all of you, I am shocked, hurt, saddened, and all the other emotions that come with a grieving heart. But that was God’s plan, and He has never made a mistake yet. That alone gives me relief and encouragement. Joe is a Christian, and I know we’ll see each other again when I pass or when Jesus comes to take His believers home. That is also God’s plan - there is no mistake. And I pray to see all of you there, as well.
My heart turns to Joe’s family. We need to to love them, support them, grieve with them, and encourage them. I empathize with Joe’s parents, Joe and Doris. Theirs is a unique and unspeakable pain with losing a child. May they all find peace somewhere in the midst of this tragic time.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I only knew Joe from the Funny Farm. But I instantly liked him. He was such a kind, funny person. There are no words to take away the pain. But I believe he's present in the Lord. My God grant you comfort and peace during this sad time.
Our condolences to yor family, no words can make any of you feel better, our prayers are with you.

My prayers and condolences to the family! Joe will be missed at the Funny Farm, he was a joy to work with, always smiling, laughing and happy! This has broken all of our hearts! Until we meet again Joe!
Genuine, delightful, thoughtful, selfless… just some of the words that come to mind when I think of Joey. He never left you wondering how he felt about you or really about anything. His smile, his hugs and especially his presence in every life he touched will be forever missed!
May the Lord keep you in His care during this difficult time. We love you.

Joe was one of the nicest men I have ever met. His face lit up a room. He was so passionate for his church and the farm. His dedication on both resonated through him, and he would just smile talking about both. He is up in heaven in the choir and planting a garden. Pure gem
To the Petruzzi family,
I am profoundly sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. I have such fond memories of him and your family growing up. I remember having such a crush on him, he lit up any room he entered. Your family will be in my prayers. May God Bless you and give you the strength to heal.
You'll forever be missed and forever remembered
Without question, the most difficult loss that a parent must face is the loss of a son or daughter. Having known Joe mainly through his sister Debbie, I occasionally, shared his company as well as experienced his gifts from God; namely, his ability to spread love and cheer to all who came in contact with him. The greatest testimony that any man can receive is that which is written at the end of his obituary, "A life well lived is worth remembering".
Joseph's faith, generosity, and work ethic is worth remembering. May God bless him and the entire Petruzzi family.
I can remember Joe from Church playing his trumpet and being in our drama plays
I volunteered with Joe at the Funny Farm. From the 1st day I met Joe I knew he was a good guy. He lived his life to the fullest. He did an amazing job with the Funny Farm's garden. We all loved Joe so much. He will be sadly missed.
Thoughts and prayers for Joe’s family.
I had the honor to work with Joe at the Port Authority after graduating high school. Joe was a great friend and mentor. Joe was the greatest. He will definitely be missed. My deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
Doris, Joe, Deanna and Deborah,
I cannot begin to express my deepest, truest sorrow for all of you. I will pray for your family and forever keep Joseph in my thoughts and prayers.
All of my love and strength to you and may God bless all of you and keep Joseph by His side.
Love always,

Mr. and Mrs. Petruzzi, Deanna and Debbie, I cannot express in words how sorry I am for your loss. Joe was a kind, caring, wonderful person with a heart of gold. He will be truly missed by everyone that knew him. Prayers of comfort are with you all!
Joe,
You were truly a joy and pleasure in anyone’s life that you met. May God watch over you and your family, and continue to play your beautiful music in Heaven.??????♥️♥️♥️
Where to begin? I was hired by PhilaPort roughly the same time as Joe and we worked together for nearly 15-years. Joe was the best co-worker ever and he became a dear friend. He will always be remembered as Santa Claus to my girls who frequented the PhilaPort Holiday parties. After I left the Port 8 years ago we continued to work together as Board members of the Ports of Philadelphia Maritime Society. Joe was a kind, caring and generous man with a heart of gold. My condolences go out to Joe's family.
To the Petruzzi family,
My deepest sympathies in the loss of your son, brother, and uncle. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to Joe's family. He will be missed tremendously. I was one of the original "garden girls" at the Funny Farm. I worked with him last year almost every week helping clear areas, weeding, etc. Sometimes it was just me and him working all day. He had a vision for that garden to expand it and it came to fruition this year. He really was one of the good ones. I can't envision that garden without seeing him standing there working on something. RIP Joe, you had a life well-lived. Selfishly, it just wasn't long enough for those left here.
My heart is breaking for your family. I am praying that God gives you strength and heals your hearts My tears are with you all and know your have family and friends who will help you get through t this tragedy. Joe was the best and God took him to be by his side. Smile and know that on your hearts. My condolences are with you all. Love Ronii Bills

One of the absolute best times I ever had was with Joe. Somehow, I had made it to the guys' only summer crab boil at his uncles house. I was so warmly welcomed and was truly amazed by the feast layed-front of me. It was an experience I think about often and I am so thankful to have experienced Joe's kindness and hospitality - not having family and not being from NJ, I soaked up every bit of it. And, thinking more about it, most of the memories involve sun tans, haha. Best of all, every memory includes Joe's big energy, smiles and laughs. Love you Joe! And thank you.
So shocked and saddened to hear the news of Joe's passing. I have very fond memories of Joe while visiting Dave Vagnoni in New Jersey. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time. God bless you all.

Dear, Doris, Joe, Deanna, Debbie and his entire family. Your son was a very special person and was loved by many people throughout his lifetime. It is so sad and shocking to see such a young healthy person in the prime of his life to be taken so quickly from this world. God had better plans for him and took him fast so that he didn't have to suffer. He will live in your hearts and minds forever, until you meet again. Please accept my Heartfelt Sympathy. I know he will be greatly missed by many. ?????
Our prayers are with your entire family!
My heartfelt Condolence for the loss of your son, we pray your faith will give you strength. The loss of your incredible son has saddened us. You remain in our thoughts and prayers.
We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers.
Joe was a dear friend of mine. A loyal friend. Even if we didn’t see each other for several years, the friendship would pick up right where it left off.
I LOVE YOU, JOE. I will miss you. Say “hello” to Dave for me! ❤️
How does a family, a close, loving, caring, and devoted family, say goodbye to their loved one? You cannot, and praise God you never will. Instead you will say, "Until we meet again, Joseph." Death is a temporary separation, and one day there will be a reunion like no other. Joseph will be there waiting for you, never to be separated again. May our Savior grant you His perfect peace and comfort you at this time, my dear friends.
We lost a very bright light here on earth, but Joey is now playing an angelic trumpet in heaven. RIP JOE.
Condolences to the family. He will be truly missed.
