Joseph E. Czbas, Jr.

Joseph E. Czbas, Jr., passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, in Washington Township. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and cherished member of his family whose warmth, humor, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Czbas III, and daughter-in-law, Gretchen; his daughter, Cathy Czbas; and his beloved grandchildren, Nicole and Joseph IV. He also leaves behind his brother, James Czbas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary. Joe will also be lovingly remembered by his many cousins, who knew and loved him affectionately as “Joey.”

Joseph was a committed member of the United States military.  He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, reaching the rank of Sergeant.  After being honorably discharged, he continued his service in the Army Reserve National Guard.  Joe served a total of 32 years protecting and defending this great nation.

Above all, Joe was a devoted father. He was always there for his son and daughter, proudly cheering them on and supporting them through every stage of their lives. Whether celebrating their accomplishments, offering encouragement, or simply showing up when they needed him, Joe made sure his children knew they could always count on him. His love for his family was evident in the countless ways he was present for them.

Joe had a charisma that was impossible to miss. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, and a personality that could fill a room. He believed that some of life’s best moments were the ones spent together sharing stories and enjoying a good laugh. Joe’s greatest legacy is the love he gave to his family and the memories he created with the people who mattered most to him.

Services to honor and celebrate Joe’s life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd. A viewing will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Township, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Joe will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joe’s memory to The Headstrong Project, supporting veterans’ mental health. Joe will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love, laughter, and lasting memories he gave to those around him. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
