Joseph A. Trombetta, Sr.
On October 8, 2020 of Washington Twp. Age 69. Beloved husband of Genevieve M. “Jeannie” (nee Iuvara). Devoted father of Dawn Marie Trombetta-Thomas (Michael) and Joseph A. Trombetta, Jr. (Amy). Loving poppy of Joseph, III and Mackenzie. Dear brother of Anthony, Jr., Patrick, and Steven Trombetta. Loving son of the late Anthony and Lillian (nee Caldaretti) Trombetta, Sr. Loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dear son-in-law of Antoinette and the late John Francis Iuvara.
Joe met the love of life, Jeannie, in high school and was married for almost 49 years, raising two children. He was a deli manager in his early years transitioning into sales until he retired. After retirement he became a stay-at-home Poppy, his most cherished role. In his free time, he served as an usher at Saints Peter and Paul Church, was the number one fan cheering on his grandkids at track and soccer, and enjoyed going to the casinos.
He was known for his homemade deli trays, hoagies, antipasto, strombolis, and frozen pina coladas, which family and friends would enjoy during camping and crabbing trips, countless dinners, and football games. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles, but his heart was with the Green Bay Packers, unless they were playing the Eagles. You could also find him singing along to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 7:00-9:00 PM and Tuesday 9:15-10:15 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
Please share memories and condolences with the family.
