Loving grandfather of Melissa, Joseph, Jr., Vincent, Christina, Alisa and the late Michael. Proud great-grandfather of Shane and James.
Joseph was honored to serve our country for a span of twenty years in the military. He started out in the Navy and was stationed in Wake Island with the 85th SeaBees at the end of WWII. He then served in the Army and Army Reserves for rest of his military career. During part of his Army career he was stationed in the 33rd Infantry at Fort Kobe in the Panama Canal Zone, where he married Anna and had his first daughter, Rebecca. They were later blessed with two more daughters.
When Joseph retired from the military, he worked at the John B. Stetson Hat Company for several years before becoming an electrician and working at the Philadelphia School District until he retired in 1992.
Joseph loved sitting in his comfy chair watching war movies, boxing, baseball and football games, and working on word-search puzzles. He enjoyed going to the casinos with Anna and playing the slot machines.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 9:45 – 10:45 AM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
