John T. Gorman
On March 25, 2022 of Washington Twp. Age 87. Beloved husband of the late Carol (nee McMenamin). Devoted father of Tara Conway (Francis) and Catherine Gorman. Loving grandfather of Mairin, Aislinn, and Declan. Dear brother of the late Gerald Gorman (Gloria). Cherished uncle of Michael Gorman, John Gorman, Christopher Gorman, and great nieces.
Proud graduate from North Catholic High school and LaSalle University. Served in the US Marine Corps for 2 years and as a Federal Agent within the Internal Revenue Service for 35 years.
John was a devout Catholic who lived his faith, loving husband, a father to Tara and Cathy, an outstanding father-in-law, and doting grandfather of three. John had 1 rule for life, if you put God first, all the rest will fall into place. John had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He enjoyed learning about space, mathematics, most recently drone technology and was full of questions.
He enjoyed golf, shooting pool, reading books, a good cheesecake, going on drives, and during his retirement, shopping. John was caring and concerned for everyone he knew. If he hadn’t seen you in a few years, he’d always ask about your life and cared enough to remember the details of your life that you shared with him.
John was a very generous man. If he saw something on one of his many trips to the store that you may like or make a task of yours easier, John would pick it up and make sure he gave it to you.
In his later years, he enjoyed watching his granddaughters play lacrosse and going to their games and cheering them on. He enjoyed the time spent with his grandson and thought he was a blessing to have joined his family. John was one of a kind and will be missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday, April 4, 2022, 10:45 – 11:45 AM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 176 Stagecoach Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM. Interment Gloucester County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans Helping Veterans, PO Box 337, Woodbury, NJ 08096.
