John M. McCalley

On September 6, 2020, of Washington Twp.  Age 73.  Beloved husband of Susan (nee Crane).  Loving father of Megan (Peter) Maher, Kate (Joe) Hartman, Michael (Katie) McCalley, and Kasey (Christopher) Pitts.  Proud grandfather of Molly, Emma, Jake, Nicholas, Grace, Sophia, Miles, Jackson, and Brooklyn.

The only son to Harry and Winnie, he was their pride and joy. Taking after his father as a dedicated long shore man, he spent many extra hours at the docks. Winnie, an avid reader, passed that same love of books and knowledge to John.

A devoted husband to Susan, they would have been celebrating their 50th anniversary on September 25th.  He loved his Wildwood days, especially since that is where they met. He continued to love the shore, particularly weekly casino trips and beach days.

John’s proudest moments involved those spent with his family. His four children all stayed close to John and Susan and live within a few miles. The last few years he took pride in his nine grandchildren as their Pop.  They kept him busy going to musicals, soccer games, dance recitals, birthdays, communions, or just getting climbed on.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved family.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Friday, 9:00-10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp.  Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at SS. Peter and Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ 08012.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to SS. Peter and Paul RC Church at the above address.
