On September 12, 2014 of Washington Twp. Age 72. Beloved husband of Barbara A. (nee Orazi). Devoted father of John D., II (Eileen), David M. (Christine), Steven (Kristine) and Karen Campopiano (Steve). Step-father of Patrick R. (Kelly), Jr., Lisa A. and Ryan A. Dougherty. Son of the late David and Lucy (nee Petrino) Harris. Loving grandfather of Meaghan, Amanda, Jack, Timothy, Brittany, Jason and Matthew. Dear brother of Lucille M. Koerner (Ted) and the late Kathleen Ray.

​Without a doubt, family came first in John’s life. Despite his gruff exterior, nothing mattered more to him than being with the ones he loved. He was always happy to host his large extended family for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, or just a regular Sunday.

Of course, if he couldn’t be at home, then the only other place John wanted to be was in Disney. A member of the Disney Vacation Club, John eagerly anticipated each trip with the excitement of a little kid and talked about Mickey Mouse as though he were a personal friend. While in Disney, John was always content to take it slow, strolling through the parks with his wife, Barbara, taking in the sights and parades, enjoying his favorite restaurants, and of course, riding his favorite ride – the benches.

John was widely known for having a unique way with words which will not soon be forgotten. Despite his interesting and distinctive vocabulary, however, he never failed to clearly communicate his love and devotion to his family and friends. The lives of his wife, children, grandchildren, and everyone else who knew him are richer for having had John in their life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday 9:00-11:00 am at Infant Jesus Parish/St. John Vianney RC Church 2901 Good Intent Rd., Deptford. Mass of Christian Burial 11:15 am. Entombment, Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
